Marc Kate applies cinematic and conceptual approaches to music and audio production. He creates a slow, immersive, drifting counterpoint to the speed and greed of the tech culture assault on San Francisco (and the world). Performing and composing from San Francisco to Berlin, he has created music for choreographers, filmmakers and SFMOMA’s audio tour. He (co)produces the podcasts Why We Listen and Scary Thoughts: Horror, Philosophy, Culture. He has released music on over two dozen labels and is a current member of the band My Heart, an Inverted Flame.
