Valerio Tricoli

Valerio Tricoli is a Palermo-born and Munich-resident composer/performer of electro-acoustic music. His concerts focus on the impromptu creation of a narrative which takes into account the relations between reality, virtuality and memory: sounds hover between the “here and now” of the concert situation and the shady domain of memory–distant but at the same time present like a déjà vu. Privileging fracture over continuity and with a dynamic range that can jump from near-silence to extreme blasts, a feeling of brooding tension is often attained. His electro-acoustic compositions are aligned to the tradition of musique concrète and explore themes of the internal and the occult, which with the use of spoken text makes them often deeply existential self-investigations of the psychological and irrational horror within.
